Competition

The tournament will be an 18-hole four ball stroke play competition played in divisions according to handicap.

Eligibility

This tournament is open to female amateur golfers who are residents of Maryland or members of member clubs of the MSGA having a maximum combined USGA INDEX of not more than 30.0 as of August 15, 2009.  Difference in handicap index of partners shall not exceed 8.0.  Team members do NOT have to belong to the same club.

Entries

1.        Entries open on August 20, 2009 and a properly completed application and entry fee of $120.00 must be submitted to the MSGA office by 5:00 PM on September 18, 2009.  Cart fee is included in the entry fee.  Make checks payable to MSGA-WD.  Checks must be for this event only.  NO REFUNDS AFTER SEPTEMBER 24, 2009. 

2.        Applications must include USGA Indexes as of August 15, 2009.

3.        The field will be limited to the 66 teams with the lowest combined handicap indexes.

4.        ENTRIES DATED AFTER SEPTEMBER 18, 2009 WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED.  ENTRIES MAY BE REFUSED BY THE MSGA-WD OR HOST CLUB AT ANY TIME. 

5.        PROPER ATTIRE REQUIRED.  For more information about the dress code policy, please visit the MSGA website at www.msga.org.  DRESS CODE WILL BE STRICTLY ENFORCED.

6.        The MSGA-WD Officer in Charge shall assign pairings and starting times.

7.        Starting times and pairings will be available on September 24, 2009.  They will be sent to participants via email.  Additionally, they will be posted on the MSGA website and they may be obtained by calling the host club’s Pro Shop at 410-822-4757 extension 20.

Prizes

The overall Champion and Runner-up will be the low gross winner and runner-up of the field.  The Champions will have their names engraved on the permanent MSGA trophy.  Gross prizes will be awarded in each division.  In the event of a tie for the Championship, a hole-by-hole play-off will follow immediately upon the completion of play.  Ties for any other prizes will be resolved by a match of cards according to the USGA recommended method.
