40th Senior Women's Amateur

COMPETITION: The tournament will be 36-hole stroke play in divisions according to age.

ELIGIBILITY: This tournament is open to female amateur golfers who are residents of Maryland or are members of member clubs of the MSGA with a USGA INDEX of 30.0 or less as of July 1, 2008 and who have reached their 50th birthday by midnight of the day of play.

ENTRIES:

1.        Entries open July 1, 2008. Entry fee is $120.00 payable to MSGA-WD.  Cart fee and range balls included.  Properly completed application, entry fee and USGA Index as of July 1, 2008 must be submitted to and received by the MSGA office no later than  July 31, 2008. Entries received after July 31, 2008 will be returned. NO REFUNDS AFTER August 5, 2008.  

2.        ENTRIES MAY BE REFUSED BY THE MSGA-WD OR HOST CLUB AT ANY TIME.  PROPER ATTIRE REQUIRED.  JEAN SHORTS, SHORT SHORTS AND DENIM NOT PERMITTED.  DRESS CODE WILL BE STRICTLY ENFORCED.

3.        The MSGA-WD Officer- in- Charge shall assign pairings and starting times.

4.        Starting times and pairings will be available on August 6, 2008.  They will be sent to participants via email. Additionally, they will be posted on the MSGA website at www.msga.org and they may be obtained by calling Hobbit’s Glen Pro Shop at 410-730-5980.

5.        Shoes with metal or traditionally designed spikes are prohibited.  Penalty for breach:  Disqualification

PRIZES: The winner will be the low gross score of the field and the Champion will have her name engraved on the permanent MSGA Trophy. Gross prizes and net prizes will be awarded within each age division.  In the event of a tie for overall low gross, a hole-by-hole play-off will follow immediately upon the completion of play.  Ties for any other prizes will be resolved by a match of cards according to the USGA recommended method.
