1st Women's Mid-Amateur Championship

COMPETITION:  The tournament will be a 36-hole stroke play competition with no cut after the first day of competition

ENTRIES:             

1.        The entry fee is $125.00.  Cart fees and range balls included in entry fee. Carts will be assigned by the pro shop.  Properly completed application, entry fee and COMPUTER VERIFICATION OF HANDICAP FOR AMATEURS must be submitted to and received by the MSGA-WD Officer in Charge no later than May 5, 2008.  Make checks payable to MSGA-WD.  NO REFUNDS AFTER May 12, 2008.

2.        ENTRIES DATED AFTER MAY 5, 2008 WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED.  ENTRIES MAY BE REFUSED BY THE MSGA-WD OR HOST CLUB AT ANY TIME.  PROPER ATTIRE REQUIRED.

3.        BERMUDA LENGTH SHORTS, BERMUDA LENGTH GOLF SKIRTS, CAPRIS OR SLACKS ARE ACCEPTABLE.  JEANS SHORTS, SHORT SHORTS AND DENIM CLOTHING OF ANY KIND ARE NOT PERMITTED.  DRESS CODE WILL BE STRICTLY ENFORCED.

4.     The MSGA-WD Officer in Charge shall assign pairings and starting times.

5.        Starting times and pairings may be obtained on May 12, 2008 by calling the host club’s Pro Shop at 301-762-9074 or on the MSGA web site at www.msga.org.

6.     Shoes with metal or traditionally designed spikes are prohibited.  Penalty for breach:  Disqualification.

ELIGIBILITY:  This tournament is open to women amateurs who are residents of Maryland or members of member clubs of the MSGA with a USGA INDEX of 25.0 or less as of April 1, 2008, and are 30 years of age or older as of May 1, 2008.

PRIZES Appropriate merchandise prizes will be awarded to the low scoring amateurs.  The winner’s name will be engraved on the permanent trophy.  In the event of a tie for the Championship, a hole-by-hole playoff will follow immediately after the completion of play.  Prizes will be awarded in Gross and Net divisions.
