Competition

COMPETITION: The tournament will be an 18-hole four ball stroke play competition in divisions according to handicap.

Conditions and Regulations

ENTRIES:

1.        Entry fee is $120.00 per team. THIS INCLUDES CART FEE.  Properly completed application, entry fee and USGA Index as of May 1, 2008 must be submitted to and received by the MSGA Office no later than JUNE 1, 2008.   
 Make checks payable to MSGA-WD. NO REFUNDS AFTER JUNE 6, 2008.

2.        The field will be limited to the 60 teams with the lowest combined handicap indexes.

3.        ENTRIES DATED AFTER JUNE 1, 2008 WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED.  ENTRIES MAY BE REFUSED BY THE MSGA-WD OR HOST CLUB AT ANY TIME.   PROPER ATTIRE REQUIRED.  JEANS SHORTS, SHORT SHORTS AND DENIM CLOTHING NOT PERMITTED.  DRESS CODE WILL BE STRICTLY ENFORCED.

4.        The MSGA-WD Officer in Charge shall assign Pairings and starting times.

5.        Starting times and pairings can be obtained on JUNE 7, 2008 by calling the host club’s Pro Shop at 410-778-1372 or on the MSGA website at www.msga.org.

6.        Shoes with metal or traditionally designed spikes are prohibited.  Penalty for breach: Disqualification.

 

Eligibility

ELIGIBILITY: This tournament is open to female amateur golfers who are residents of Maryland or members of member clubs of the MSGA having a combined USGA INDEX of 30.1 and above as of May 1, 2008.  Difference in handicap of partners shall not exceed eight (8) strokes.  No individual may have a handicap index greater than 36.0.  No team or individual is allowed to play in both the Two-Woman Mid-Handicap Tournament and the Two-Woman Team Championship.  Team members do NOT have to belong to the same club.

Prizes

PRIZES:  The overall winner will be the low gross score of the field.  Gross prizes will be awarded in each division.  In the event of a tie for the overall winner, there will be a hole-by-hole playoff immediately upon completion of play.  A match of cards according to the USGA recommended method will be used to resolve ties for any other prizes.
